Chocolate and almond cake
Tempting dessert inspirations from Cailler: Chocolate and almond cake


Preparation time: approx. 20 mins
Baking time: approx. 45 mins For a cake form of approx. 28 cm, greased and floured

  1. Whisk butter, sugar, salt and egg yolks with hand mixer until the mixture turns paler.
  2. Melt chocolate (see Tip 1), add.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder and almonds, fold into the mixture.
  4. Fold stiffly beaten egg whites into the dough (see Tip 2), pour mixture into the prepared cake form.

approx. 45 minutes in the middle of oven preheated to 180°C.

Tip 1: Melt the chocolate in a thin-walled bowl over a pan of gently simmering water, stir until smooth.

Tip 2: Carefully fold egg whites into the dough using a dough scraper.
